LEGAZPI CITY, Oct. 23 -- The provincial government of Albay will establish a 911 command center to strengthen disaster resilience and response efforts during calamities and emergencies.
Governor Noel Rosal said the province allocated PHP78 million for the project that would ensure accurate, timely, and factual reporting during disasters.
"Like other big local government units, we also need to put up here in Albay, considering that we are a typhoon-prone, calamity-prone area, and our province with different incidents, traffic, and accidents, we need to have a command center. We have to connect the 15 LGUs (local government units) and three cities," he said in an interview with the Albay Provincial Information Office on Thursday.
