Manila, Feb. 20 -- Albay's provincial government has decided to cancel the 2025 Magayon Festival to prevent it from possibly violating any prohibitions set by a Commission on Elections (Comelec) resolution.

In an interview on Thursday by the Albay Information Office, provincial government administrator Cedric Daep said they conducted a meeting with various government officials involved in the implementation of the activities and have decided to postpone the event due to Comelec Resolution 11060, which prohibits the release, disbursement, or expenditure of public funds for social services from March 28 to May 11, or 45 days before the elections.
