MANILA, March 12 -- Low-cost carrier AirAsia Philippines on Tuesday said it added manpower in anticipation of the high volume of passengers during the Holy Week and assured there would be no overbooking of flights in this period.

AirAsia has hired additional mechanics and ground staff to ensure smooth and on-time operations.

"We also have staff on standby who can be tapped to help during peak hours," it said in a statement.

The carrier assured seats for purchased tickets but passengers are urged to book their flights early.

An additional 50,000 to the daily average of 130,000 passengers are expected at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) during this period.
