Manila, June 4 -- Air India is set to roll out its non-stop flights from Manila and Delhi starting Oct. 1, a highly anticipated development for the Philippine tourism sector as it targets to boost visitor arrivals from the coveted Indian market.

Air India's service to Manila will operate five days a week- on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays- using the airline's Airbus A321neo aircraft.

This development comes as the Philippines introduces a visa-free entry for Indian tourists for up to 14 days.

The Indian Embassy in Manila, in a statement on Wednesday, said this looming launch is a welcome development both for tourism and people-to-people links between the two states.
