Manila, Sept. 25 -- The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Thursday dismissed the alleged destabilization plot to oust President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., calling such information "baseless" and "unfounded."
"The AFP rejects malicious narratives about supposed plans to unseat the President or launch destabilization efforts," AFP Public Affairs Office chief Col. Xerxes Trinidad said in a statement.
"These claims are baseless, unfounded, and far removed from reality."
The supposed plot, according to reports, was supposed to take place before the Sept. 21 anti-corruption rallies spawned by recent discoveries of corruption in government flood control projects involving government engineers and politicians.
