Manila, Jan. 23 -- With the conviction of the Tacloban court of two militant activists for terrorism financing, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Friday reiterated its commitment to protecting Filipinos against all forms of terrorism and violent extremism.

AFP spokesperson Col. Francel Margareth Padilla, in a message to reporters, said that they will be doing this while upholding human rights and due process.

"We will continue to support law enforcement agencies in building cases based on evidence and in full compliance with the law," she added.
