MANILA, Nov. 26 -- The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has reaffirmed its stand against gender-based violence through a unity walk on Tuesday, marking its participation in the national observance of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW).
In a statement Wednesday, the AFP said the event, dubbed "Men Opposed to Violence Against Women (MOVE) Walk to End VAW," highlighted the military's unified support to end all forms of abuse and discrimination against women and girls.
"Through its continued participation in the campaign, the AFP reaffirmed its support for government efforts to create a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all Filipino women," it said.
