Manila, Feb. 4 -- The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Tuesday said it is monitoring all developments concerning DeepSeek, a Chinese artificial intelligence model, in light of the security concerns raised by international bodies.
In a statement, AFP spokesperson Col. Francel Margareth Padilla said the military is doing this as part of efforts to safeguard the country's national security.
"The AFP is committed to safeguarding national security and ensuring that all technologies used within the military align with strict data security standards," she added.
And should DeepSeek be banned, Padilla said the AFP is ready to act quickly to protect the country.
