Manila, June 26 -- The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Thursday reiterated its commitment to defending the country amid "shifting regional dynamics and escalating global tensions."

In a statement, AFP chief Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. said the military, under the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., as its commander in chief, continues to uphold its duty with courage, honor and unwavering resolve.

"Today, the AFP stands united and future-ready, not to provoke war but to deter conflict and defend the nation with valor, vigilance, and vital partnerships across the globe," he said.
