Manila, March 11 -- The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Tuesday said a total of 11,287 assorted vessels have been monitored in the country's exclusive economic zone (EEZ) from Feb. 1 to 28.

"For our vessel monitoring all over the archipelago, your AFP has successfully monitored 11,287 vessels from 1 to 28 February 2025, highlighting the Philippine Navy (PN)'s commitment to maritime security within the nation's EEZ," AFP spokesperson Col. Francel Margareth Padilla said in a press briefing in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

Per tracking by the PN, Padilla said this can be broken down into 9,255 foreign vessels and 2,032 local ships.
