Manila, March 7 -- The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said the two fallen FA-50PH fighter jet pilots exemplify the "extraordinary courage" of the Filipino soldier.
"Their unwavering dedication, bravery, and ultimate sacrifice are a testament to the extraordinary courage of every Filipino soldier who answers the call to serve our nation," AFP spokesperson Col. Xerxes Trinidad said in a statement Thursday night.
The two pilots were flying the FA-50PH with tail number 002 and were supposed to provide air support to government troops in Bukidnon when they went missing on March 4.
The wreckage of the aircraft was found the following morning in the vicinity of Mount Kalatungan Complex in Bukidnon.
