Manila, June 20 -- Over PHP16 million worth of illegal drugs were discovered in three abandoned parcels at the Central Mail Exchange Center (CMEC) in Pasay City, the Bureau of Customs - Ninoy Aquino International Airport (BOC-NAIA) said Friday.

The drugs - 3,025 grams of ketamine approximately worth PHP15,125,000 and 858 grams of "kush" or high-grade marijuana worth PHP1,201,200 - were discovered during the physical examination of the parcels.

The physical examination was conducted after x-ray scans showed suspicious images, the BOC-NAIA said.

One parcel arrived from the United States containing 240 grams of "kush" while another came from Thailand with 618 grams of "kush."
