Manila, Sept. 3 -- The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) has already trained 831 local government units (LGUs) on the use of various tools under the country's GeoRisk Initiative, the central information resource on natural hazards and risk assessment.
Department of Science and Technology - Phivolcs Director Teresito Bacolcol on Wednesday said nearly half of the country's 1,820 provincial, city, and municipal governments have been trained from 2019 to this year.
