Manila, March 6 -- Seventy local government units (LGUs) in the Caraga region, including five provinces, six cities, and 59 municipalities, were recognized with the 2024 Seal of Good Financial Housekeeping (SGFH) Award on Thursday.

The SGFH, part of the Seal of Good Local Governance, acknowledges LGUs' adherence to accounting and auditing standards and their receipt of an unqualified or qualified opinion from the Commission on Audit.

Surigao del Sur Governor Alexander Pimentel celebrated the province's inclusion, along with 15 of its municipalities and the cities of Tandag and Bislig.
