Manila, June 25 -- At least seven taxi drivers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) were apprehended on Wednesday for various offenses, Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) General Manager Eric Ines said.

This was the result of an intensified effort against erring taxi drivers at the airport, he said in a radio interview.

A composite team to crack down on erring drivers was formed on Sunday and has been functioning 24/7, according to Ines.

The team is composed of the MIAA, its Airport Police Department (APD), the Land Transportation Office (LTO), the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), and the Philippine National Police (PNP) Aviation Security Group.
