DAVAO CITY, Dec. 17 -- The Davao City Social Welfare and Development Office's (CSWDO) Family Welfare program provided a PHP1,000 monthly subsidy to 5,267 single parents in the city in 2025, an official said Wednesday.

Julie Dayaday, head of the CSWDO, said the subsidy was provided through a local executive order, which mandates that solo parents in the city receive a monthly cash allowance of PHP1,000 to supplement their income.

"For our family welfare program, we've issued ID cards to solo parents, and 5,267 of them already received their monthly subsidy," she added.

However, Dayaday clarified that not all solo parents qualify for the subsidy, as it is intended for indigent solo parents who are either unemployed or minimum wage earner...
