TACLOBAN CITY, Dec. 3 -- Five members of the New People's Army (NPA) surrendered to the government in separate incidents across Leyte and Northern Samar provinces, authorities reported on Wednesday.

Three NPA fighters operating in Leyte voluntarily surrendered to the Philippine Army's (PA) 93rd Infantry Battalion (IB) headquarters in Kananga town on Dec. 1, 2025.

The PA identified the surrenderers as Remegio Narbonita alias Alon, from Carigara, Leyte; Rocelo Corea alias Rod/Ryan/Billy, from Hindang, Leyte; and Rosendo Orca alias Sendo, from Kananga, Leyte.

All three were members of Squad 2, Island Committee Levox of the NPA Eastern Visayas Regional Party Committee (EVRPC).
