MANILA, Sept. 1 -- Over 41,000 families were affected by the combined effects of the southwest monsoon, tropical cyclone Jacinto, and the recent low pressure area, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Monday.

Citing its latest report, the NDRRMC said the 41,297 families are equivalent to 201,465 persons residing in 180 barangays in Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Soccskargen, Caraga, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

As of Monday morning, 1,126 families or 5,067 people were being aided in 16 evacuation centers, while another 30,645 families or 153,225 individuals were receiving assistance while staying in other places.
