Manila, Feb. 28 -- Thirty loose firearms were voluntarily surrendered to government authorities in Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur on Friday, as part of the Small Arms and Light Weapons (SALW) Management Program under the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU).
Col. Eddie Pilapil, acting commander of the 102nd Infantry Brigade (102Bde), said the firearms were turned over by residents of Kumalarang with the assistance of the Philippine Army's 53rd Infantry Battalion and the 102nd Infantry Brigade.
