MANILA, April 17 -- Three Dubai flights were canceled on Wednesday due to the unprecedented heavy rain showers and flooding in the United Arab Emirates city.

The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said the canceled flights are Philippine Airlines PR 659 Dubai-Manila; Cebu Pacific Air 5J 015 Dubai-Manila and 5J 014 Manila-Dubai.

Emirates Airlines also flies between Dubai and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport but according to MIAA's Media Affairs Division, there is no flight cancellation advisory from the airline. It has six flights scheduled Wednesday -- EK 334/335, 336/337, and 332/333 Dubai-Manila-Dubai.

Dubai experienced heavy rain showers Tuesday, flooding streets, the airport as well as homes and businesses.
