Manila, May 13 -- The midterm elections in Cebu showcased a mix of change and continuity, with highly urbanized Cebu City posting a shift after Councilor Nestor Archival won the mayoralty seat over Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia.

Archival garnered 231,411 votes, higher than Garcia's 156,351 and dismissed mayor Michael Rama's 108,197 votes.

Former mayor Tomas Osmena was also elected as the new vice mayor, winning over Dondon Hontiveros and Joey Daluz.

For the city's congressional seats, Edu Rama secured another term as South District representative and Rachel del Mar for the North District.
