BUTUAN CITY, Nov. 2 -- The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB)- Caraga on Sunday warned local government units and communities susceptible to landslides and flooding to remain vigilant as Severe Tropical Storm Tino threatens the region.
"Stay alert for any signs of increase or decrease in flood levels, and watch over areas near rivers, slopes, or drainage canals," the MGB-13 said in its advisory.
Three cities and 37 municipalities across the region have communities considered vulnerable to rain-induced landslides and flooding: Agusan del Norte (one city and four towns), Agusan del Sur (one city and four towns), Dinagat Islands (seven towns), Surigao del Norte (one city and 20 towns), and Surigao del Sur (two towns).
