Manila, Sept. 3 -- The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Wednesday said 262 individuals were arrested in a 24-hour anti-crime operation across Metro Manila.

In a statement, NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin said the operation took place from 6 a.m. on Tuesday to 5:59 a.m. on Wednesday.

Of the total arrests, 46 were for illegal drugs, 72 for illegal gambling, nine for loose firearms, and 62 for "other violations," according to the NCRPO.

The total number also included the arrest of 73 individuals on the wanted persons list.
