Manila, June 9 -- Over 23,000 local and overseas job vacancies are to be offered to Ilocos Region residents at the Kalayaan Jobs Fair in six areas of the provinces on Independence Day.

In a forum hosted by the Philippine Information Agency on Monday, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Ilocos Region assistant director Honorina Dian-Baga, said of the total number of job vacancies, over 9,400 are local and 13,600 are overseas.

The Independence Day Jobs Fair will be held in SM City Laoag Ilocos Norte, Candon City Sports Complex in Ilocos Sur, Robinsons La Union, SM City Rosales, Alaminos City Sports Complex, and Nepo Mall Dagupan City, all in Pangasinan, she said.

A total of 129 employers have joined the fair.
