Manila, Aug. 31 -- The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) recorded a total of 235 arrests within a 24-hour period between Friday and Saturday.

In a statement over the weekend, NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin said the arrests took place from 6 a.m. of Aug. 29 to 5:59 a.m. of Aug. 30.

"The consolidated report underscores the NCRPO's aggressive enforcement operations against illegal drugs, illegal gambling, wanted persons, loose firearms and violations of local ordinances," Aberin said.

A total of 34 individuals were apprehended in drug-related operations, while 63 others were caught for illegal gambling.
