Manila, March 24 -- Drainage rehabilitation activities along Laong Laan Street in Sampaloc, Manila started on Monday, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) reported.

The DPWH-North Manila District Engineering Office said repair works are expected to be completed by April 7.

The first phase of rehabilitation works will be 20 linear meters long and three meters wide of Laong Laan Street between Vicente Cruz and Miguelin Streets.

Closure of one lane along Laong Laan Street is necessary, thus the expected traffic slowdown in the area, which covers the busy Dangwa Flower Market.

The DPWH assured the public that affected lanes will be opened immediately after the construction activities.
