Manila, Feb. 6 -- Two overstaying Chinese nationals, including one posing as a Filipino, were arrested for immigration violations in Tacloban City last week, the Bureau of Immigration said Friday.

Authorities arrested Zhu Fulin, 51, and Wu Huoyan, 53, at an e-bike commercial establishment in Barangay 91, Abucay.

Both were found to be overstaying aliens and were engaged in unauthorized employment despite holding only tourist status.

Zhu was unable to present any valid immigration document, and records show that he has been overstaying since 2023.

Meanwhile, Wu overstayed after his visa expired in 2020. Authorities also noted that Wu attempted to misrepresent himself as a Filipino citizen by presenting a Philippine identification card ...
