Manila, April 16 -- Two more police officers died of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), raising the police force's death toll to 49, a Philippine National Police (PNP) official said on Friday.
Citing Thursday night's Covid-19 update, Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, PNP deputy chief for administration, said the 48th fatality is a 50-year-old non-commissioned officer assigned at the Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit of the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management who died on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the 49th fatality is a 55-year-old non-commissioned officer assigned at the Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit of the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management and is scheduled for retirement. He died on Thursday.
