Manila, June 16 -- Two elementary schools in this city received two school buildings in time for the opening of classes on Monday.
In an interview, Mayor Jerry Trenas said the city government fast-tracked the completion of the four-story, 12-classroom building for the Tabucan Elementary School in Mandurriao district and the two-story, 10-classroom building for Baluarte Elementary School in Molo district in time for the school opening.
Both projects were funded under the Special Education Fund, which is sourced from the additional one percent tax on real property.
The building in Tabucan Elementary School, the construction of which started in 2023, costs PHP60 million.
