Manila, July 9 -- The southwest monsoon or "habagat" will continue to bring rains over many areas in the country, the weather bureau said Wednesday.

This will bring occasional rains over Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, Batanes, and Babuyan Islands, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

It will also cause scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Cordillera Administrative Region, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Mainland Cagayan, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Antique, Aklan, the rest of Ilocos Region, the rest of Central Luzon, and Mimaropa.

Moderate to heavy rains in those areas could result in flash floods or landslides, PAGASA warned....
