Manila, Aug. 11 -- Severe Tropical Storm (STS) Gorio maintained its strength, packing maximum sustained winds of 110 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center, and gustiness of up to 135 kph, the weather bureau said in its 11 a.m. bulletin on Monday.
The STS continues to move 25 kph westward over the Philippine Sea, and was located 1,170 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon as of 10 a.m.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Gorio is unlikely to affect the country in the next three days.
However, it will cause moderate to rough seas over the coastal waters of extreme northern Luzon.
