Manila, Feb. 18 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is wishing Vice President Sara Duterte "good luck" following her pronouncement regarding her presidential bid in 2028, Malacanang said on Wednesday.

"Nadinig niya po at ang sabi niya po ay good luck. 'Yun lamang po. Nadinig niya po ang mga sinabing pinagsisihan at humihingi ng kapatawaran itong Bise Presidente ("He heard it and he said good luck. That's all. He heard the Vice President's words of regret and asking for forgiveness)," Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said in a press briefing.

Castro, however, said she could not tell whether Marcos was "sarcastic" when he expressed his well wishes for Duterte.
