Manila, Jan. 22 -- Malacanang on Thursday assured the public that no one, regardless of social status or influence, could evade accountability in the case of the missing "sabungeros" (cockfight aficionados).
The assurance came after Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla said whistleblower Dondon Patidongan informed authorities that fugitive businessman Charlie "Atong" Ang may be hiding in Cambodia under a false identity.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the issue of missing sabungeros has long been monitored by the government.
