Mumbai, April 7 -- The Madras High Court on Monday, April 7, 2025 extended the interim protection from arrest order to famous stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra till April 17. The protection pertains to a case registered against him at the Khar police station in Mumbai. Kamra is accused of making objectionable remarks against a Maharashtra politician in his recent comedy show 'Naya Bharat'.

Justice Sundar Mohan passed the order after advocate V. Suresh told the court that he had sent a personal notice to the Khar police on March 28, 2025 as per the court's order. Suresh also requested the court to ensure from the registry that the court's notice was also sent to the police. The court ordered the case to be re-listed for April 17.
