Mumbai, Aug. 22 -- The strike of thousands of workers of the Telugu film industry ended on Thursday. This decision was taken after the workers and producers reached an agreement on salary hike. Officials of the state labor department were also present in this agreement.

Senior labor department official Gangadhar informed that the Film Workers Federation had been demanding a 30 percent salary hike for the last three years. No solution could be found in the earlier talks, after which the department had to intervene. Eventually, both the parties agreed on a 22.5 percent hike.

Gangadhar said that separate arrangements have been made for low-paid employees. They will get a hike of 15 percent, 2.5 percent and 5 percent for the last three year...
