Mumbai, July 25 -- The controversial film 'Udaipur Files' will now be released in theaters on 8 August 2025. On Friday, the film's director Bharat Srinet announced its new release date. Earlier, the Supreme Court had directed the Delhi High Court to hear the petitions regarding the approval given for release on July 28.

The film 'Udaipur Files' is based on the murder of tailor Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur, Rajasthan in 2022. The film made on this sensitive subject has already been in controversy. Director Bharat Srinet told NDTV that the censor board has made 150 cuts in the film, due to which the release of the film was delayed.
