Israel, Aug. 29 -- Nauru has become the first Pacific Island nation to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
In an exclusive interview with PACNEWS, Ambassador of Israel to the Pacific Islands, Tibor Schlosser said "Israel is humbled and filled with gratitude and would welcome more Pacific countries to be part of our home in Jerusalem with their embassies".
"This recognition is testament to our Holy Bible as manifested 2000 years ago in the prayers of every Jew to return to Jerusalem and is carved on the walls of the 2000 year old Titus gate in Rome - the Menorah, which was robbed from the holy temple and today appears as the emblem of the revived State of Israel," he said.
