Fiji, Dec. 16 -- Pacific Islands Forum Secretary General, Baron Waqa has condemned the deadly attack at Sydney's Bondi Beach, describing it as an act of terrorism and expressing solidarity with Australia.

"The Pacific Islands Forum condemns the act of terrorism that unfolded on Sunday 14 December at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia."

Waqa said the Forum family stands with Australia in the wake of the tragedy.

"The Forum family stands with the people and Government of Australia in this moment of grief, following this shocking tragedy."

He said the Pacific's shared values bind the region together in times of crisis.
