United States, Sept. 25 -- As part of Fiji's own response to the climate threat, the country is strengthening its nature-based solutions, says Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.

Bainimarama made the statement at the World Leaders for Nature and People's event organised by World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in New York.

"As part of our broader response, we have identified the opportunity to plant around 30 million trees in the next 10 to 15 years and also have a plan to monetise the stored carbon in our thriving and expanding forests and mangroves.
