Bhubaneswar, Jan. 21 -- Deepinder Goyal has stepped down as Group Chief Executive Officer of Eternal Ltd (Parent company of Zomato). with immediate effect, marking a major leadership transition at the company he founded 18 years ago. Subject to shareholder approval, Goyal will continue on the board as Vice Chairman, while Albinder Dhindsa, currently CEO of Blinkit and a long-time associate of Goyal, has been appointed the new Group CEO.

In a letter to shareholders, Goyal said he has recently been drawn towards ideas involving higher-risk exploration and experimentation, which are better pursued outside a public company.
