In a major announcement on Thursday ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday, Odisha Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Minister Rabi Narayan Naik confirmed that work orders for around 50,000 Antyodaya houses will be distributed among eligible people across the State on September 17.
This move is part of a larger housing initiative under the Antyodaya Gruha Yojana.
The Minister said that the State government has already included more than 1 lakh beneficiaries under the scheme. The formal work orders for these houses will be distributed as part of the birthday celebration for the Prime Minister.
