India, March 23 -- In a heart-wrenching incident, a 70-year-old woman and her daughter were hacked to death with an axe at Badapada village under Hemagir police limits in Sundargarh district, Odisha late Saturday night. The deceased have been identified as Bilasini Swara and her 70-year-old mother Rukmini Biswal.

The double murder has shocked local residents. The harrowing incident unfolded yesterday night. On being informed, the local police rushed to the village and retrieved the blood-soaked bodies.
