Bhubaneswar, Feb. 19 -- The United States has reportedly placed its military forces in a heightened state of readiness amid escalating tensions with Iran, though President Donald Trump has not taken a final call on any potential strike.

According to multiple international reports, operational planning is in place as Washington increases its military presence in the Middle East.

The US currently maintains a sizeable naval and air deployment in the region. This includes 13 warships, among them the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, supported by destroyers and littoral combat ships. Another carrier, USS Gerald R. Ford, is also heading toward the area with additional escort vessels.
