Bhubaneswar, Aug. 30 -- While the deadline for linking Aadhaar number with ration cards will be ending tomorrow, as many as 31 lakh beneficiaries are yet to complete the linking process. After the deadline, only beneficiaries with ration card linked to Aadhaar will get subsided Re1/kg rice under the public distribution system (PDS).
Till August 3, while 2,85,22,459 Aadhaar numbers were seeded in the database, still 34,52,984 numbers were pending to be seeded against the beneficiaries.
However, since then no noticeable progress has been made and still 31 lakh beneficiaries have not linked their ration and Aadhaar cards raising doubts that they could be ineligible or bogus beneficiaries.
