Bhubaneswar, Dec. 3 -- A significant number of traders have been caught deceiving consumers by manipulating measurements and weights, according to the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister of Odisha, Krushna Chandra Patra. Revealing the data, the Minister revealed that 153 cases of cheating specifically related to weight and measurement have surfaced in the last two years.
The Minister stated that 3,12,326 inspections were carried out during this period to identify irregularities. These checks aimed to ensure compliance and safeguard consumers from fraudulent practices.
