Bhubaneswar, Dec. 1 -- Steve Smith hit an unbeaten 200 (311 b, 16x4) against West Indies in the ongoing first Test at Perth on Thursday. The former Australian skipper's double ton has put the hosts in the driver's seat.

Despite Smith's brilliant knock what caught the attention of the fans was a moment in the match when the right-handed batter accidentally hit the umpire with the bat at the non-striker's end. Rod Tucker was taken by surprise as Smith unknowingly hit the umpire.

Subsequently, Tucker was found wreathing in pain while Smith was seen consoling him and pleading his innocence.

After the completion of the game, Smith had a laugh about the incident and admitted that he did not know that the umpire was standing right behind him....
