Bhubaneswar, Oct. 22 -- An incident of violence broke out inside the Choudwar Jail in Cuttack when one inmate suddenly attacked another during the night on Tuesday. The attack was captured on the jail ward's CCTV footage, which has now come to light.

The video shows the assailant getting up and unexpectedly assaulting the other prisoner. Following the attack, several other inmates woke up and were seen running around the ward, attempting to intervene or escape the chaos.

Authorities are reviewing the footage to investigate the cause of the incident and to ensure the safety and security within the jail premises.Earlier, on Oct 2, at least 2 dreaded criminals escaped from the high-security jail.
