Bhubaneswar, Jan. 9 -- The Odishagovernment has finalised arrangements to supply essential wedding items to beneficiaries of the Mukhya Mantri Kanya Vivah Yojana, with the state-run handicrafts and handloom cooperative Utkalika entrusted with a key role in the initiative.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Utkalika and the Women and Child Development Department in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, formalising the procurement and distribution process.
Under the scheme, brides will receive a set of essential ceremonial items, including sarees, bangles, anklets and bindis. These materials will be sourced and distributed through Utkalika to ensure quality and uniformity in the items provided to benefi...
