Starting his journey as a Tonga driver to earn livelihood, Gulati rose to become India's 'King of Spices'. But in everything between, there lies an untold story which captures his remarkable transformation.

One of the most interesting incidents is Gulati's connection with Odisha's Cuttack. According to a 2018 book "Divided by Partition, United by Resilience" by Mallika Ahluwalia, Gulati received his first order for MDH from a Cuttack-based businessman.
