In a big decision, the Union Cabinet on Tuesday approved as many as four new semiconductor projects across three states including Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and Punjab. Out of these four projects, Odisha will get two semiconductor manufacturing units. Similarly, one project each will be set up in Andhra Pradesh and Punjab.
The total investment across all four projects will be Rs 4,594 crore. Odisha's two semiconductor manifacturing units alone will attract an investment of Rs 2,066 crore.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared this information after the Cabinet meeting on Tuesday.
